EHS LOTOTO Specialist
The EHS LOTOTO Specialist is responsible for organizing LOTOTO procedures across various projects and providing guidance on LOTOTO activities. This role includes conducting safety walkdowns and audits (CAPA & reporting management), issuing permits, managing audit documentation, overseeing confined space activities, providing training, and reviewing risk analyses.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain safety procedures and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate and implement legislative changes in safety procedures.
- Oversee employee training on safety procedures and ensure participation in relevant courses.
- Approve procedures for the separation of mechanical systems.
- Inform the project team about hazardous commissioning activities (e.g., steam blows, power supply systems).
- Establish and maintain communication channels between teams on safety issues throughout the commissioning phase.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to:
- PTW procedures
- LOTOTO insulation procedures
- LOTOTO registers align with field conditions
- Automation team compliance with the PTW system
- Continue the safety incentive program with monthly raffles, suggestion boxes, and communication sessions during commissioning.
- Ensure continuous safety improvements throughout the commissioning phase.
- Report and document any accidents or incidents during commissioning.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Technical or higher education in mechanical, industrial engineering, or safety-related fields.
- Further Education: Professional EHS accreditation (e.g., SUVA certificate) from a recognized institution.
- Experience: At least five years of experience in an EHS role in chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial production settings (plant safety). Experience with performing LOTO (TO) activities is required.
- Languages: Fluent in English, with advanced German skills (minimum B2 level).
- Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of construction industry practices, with a preference for pharmaceutical industry experience.
- In-depth understanding of Swiss EHS regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with P&IDs.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to conduct training and presentations.
- Ability to define and optimize process flows and understand cross-process relationships.
