Job Title: Critical Facilities Technician (CFT)

Overview:
The Critical Facilities Technician (CFT) plays a key role in the efficient operation and upkeep of both critical and non-critical infrastructure, systems, and equipment within the data center. This position emphasizes a commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. A focus on ongoing learning and professional growth is essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor power, cooling systems, and environmental conditions within the data halls.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and manage planned and unplanned tasks.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of both critical and non-critical data center systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Assist in creating, revising, and executing operational procedures and preventive maintenance inspections, ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of data center standards and policies as needed.
  • Respond quickly to electrical and mechanical issues, minimizing risks and ensuring clear communication throughout.
  • Assist with resolving critical issues and emergencies, working independently or collaboratively for full recovery.
  • Troubleshoot, document, and escalate technical issues as required, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility operations, including rounds, preventive maintenance work orders, and change management.
  • Manage assigned tasks to ensure efficient and timely completion.
  • Work closely with external contractors, ensuring compliance with facility work rules.
  • Conduct facility rounds at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper maintenance of the data center and its grounds.
  • Support 24x7 data center operations, with flexibility to cover shifts as needed.
  • Provide on-call emergency support as required.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in mission-critical environments.
  • Electrical or mechanical license preferred.
