Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Siemens Compressor Commissioning Engineer with expertise in PCS7 to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of Siemens compressor systems, particularly in facilities utilizing the PCS7 Distributed Control System (DCS). You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure the successful integration, operation, and optimization of compressor units and associated control systems, ensuring all systems meet performance specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Compressor Commissioning:
- Lead the commissioning of Siemens compressor systems, ensuring proper installation, operation, and performance of mechanical and control components.
- Oversee the setup and calibration of compressors, including pressure and flow adjustments, to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure compressors are integrated correctly with the PCS7 DCS for optimized control and monitoring.
PCS7 Configuration & Integration:
- Program and configure the PCS7 control system for compressor operations, including control loops, safety interlocks, and system parameters.
- Coordinate the integration of compressors with other plant systems, ensuring seamless communication between equipment and the control system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the PCS7 control system and its interaction with the compressor and auxiliary systems.
Testing & Performance Verification:
- Conduct thorough testing of the compressor systems and associated control systems, verifying that they meet the design and performance specifications.
- Perform system checks, functional tests, and validation of operational parameters.
- Monitor system behavior during startup and make adjustments to optimize efficiency and ensure stable operation.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to compressor performance, control system integration, and operational malfunctions.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting support for electrical, mechanical, and control system issues, coordinating with internal teams and vendors as necessary.
- Ensure that issues are resolved efficiently and that commissioning timelines are maintained.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and any system adjustments or troubleshooting activities.
- Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports outlining the status of each system, test results, performance assessments, and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure all commissioning documentation complies with project and Siemens standards.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure the smooth execution of commissioning activities.
- Provide guidance and support to other team members, sharing knowledge and best practices related to compressor systems and PCS7.
- Provide training and handover support to plant operators on the operation and maintenance of the compressor systems and PCS7 DCS.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all commissioning activities are performed in accordance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and Siemens quality standards.
- Actively participate in safety audits and risk assessments related to compressor operations and control systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning industrial systems, specifically Siemens compressor systems and PCS7 DCS.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens compressors, including system integration and performance testing.
- Strong expertise in PCS7 configuration, programming, and troubleshooting, with a deep understanding of control system principles.
Skills:
- Proficient in Siemens PCS7 configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of Siemens compressor systems, including their operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of control loops, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and control system diagrams, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in PCS7, Siemens compressor systems, or control system technologies are advantageous.
- Additional certifications in safety or quality management are a plus.
Language:
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in industrial environments and field locations, including working at heights or in confined spaces as necessary.
- Ability to lift heavy components and perform hands-on commissioning tasks.
- Willingness to travel to commissioning sites and work under varying environmental conditions.
