Marine Coordinator
Location - Ostend, Belgium
Start date - 1st March
End date - 30th September (options to extend a further 6-9 months).
Rotation - 2weeks on, 2 weeks off.
1. Participate in the preparation of procedures and work instructions and validate procedures and instructions to which an H&S aspect is linked.
2. Follow up on compliance with policies by proactively planning, monitoring and/or conducting audits and inspections.
3. Promote awareness of HSE-S risks and opportunities e.g. prepare and/or conduct inductions and toolbox meetings for site personnel and visitors.
4. Stimulate HSE-S awareness in accordance with the management system specifications in all employees by developing sharing knowledge on changes in) own functional area.
5. Act as an ambassador for HSE-S and promote discussions on important HSE-S topics.
6. Provide detailed HSE-S advice and signal risks and opportunities to the management and other stakeholders on the responsible area of expertise.
7. Initiate, develop and maintain constructive relations with internal stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors and interest groups and if required, act as the intermediate function between the HSE-S department and client, area, project or authorities prior, during and after the project.
8. Ensure or contribute to the monitoring of (subareas of) HSE-S practices (on the project) through regular checks and inspections and discuss observations with Project Management or client.
Project specific description
1. Coordinate marine activities with regards to SIMOPS via daily marine coordination meetings with all relevant stakeholders and suppliers.
2. Coordinate with the harbour in Ostend with regards to harbour facilities and manage the quay facilities and supplies in Ostend.
3. Coordinate with shipping agents for supplies (fuel, logistics) for small vessels in BE/NL
4. Manage the contracts, logistics of the survey vessel and CTV vessels.
5. Use of the management system OFFSHARE to coordinate, transfers, permits to work, permit to access, marine equipment certification and documentation and event logging.
6. Ensure communication between on/offshore.
7. Liaise with Marine coordination of client.
8. Participate in emergency response as a first person of contact (including stand-by at night)
