About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) Site Coordinator to join our team on an onshore wind farm project in Latvia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, health, and environmental standards are maintained to the highest level throughout the project lifecycle. This position involves coordinating with contractors, site personnel, and management to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local Latvian HSE regulations, company policies, and international standards relevant to wind farm construction and operation.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the site to identify risks and ensure adherence to HSE protocols.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Develop, implement, and monitor risk assessments and safe working procedures.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to minimize risks.
Training and Awareness:
- Conduct safety inductions and training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors to the site.
- Promote awareness of HSE standards and procedures among all personnel.
Incident Reporting and Investigation:
- Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and accidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and provide regular HSE reports to management.
Contractor Management:
- Liaise with contractors to ensure their HSE practices align with project requirements.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Environmental Stewardship:
- Oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution control, and biodiversity protection measures.
- Ensure adherence to environmental impact mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of HSE activities, including audits, inspections, risk assessments, and training.
- Prepare and submit periodic HSE performance reports to project management.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience in an HSE role within the construction, renewable energy, or similar industry.
- Previous experience with wind farm projects is highly advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Thorough understanding of Latvian HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of wind farm operations and associated HSE challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and implement practical solutions.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in Latvian and English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HSE management systems and tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
