Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the installation of Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) for an onshore wind project in Germany. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wind turbine installation, leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Site Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team on-site and serve as the main point of contact for all site-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Management:

  • Oversee and manage all on-site activities related to the installation of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Manage the day-to-day site operations, ensuring all works are completed efficiently and safely.

• Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure the site adheres to all safety regulations and best practices, maintaining a strong focus on a zero-accident culture.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks to ensure the workforce follows all required protocols.
  • Ensure that all work is compliant with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and laborers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the team.
  • Provide direction and support to the project team, resolve any site issues that may arise, and ensure quality workmanship at all times.

• Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track project progress, prepare daily and weekly reports, and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor the progress of WTG installation and proactively identify and address potential delays or challenges.

• Logistics and Resource Management:

  • Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials and equipment needed for the WTG installation.
  • Ensure all required resources (tools, equipment, personnel) are available and optimized for the project's needs.

• Quality Control:

  • Ensure that installation works meet quality standards and specifications as outlined in the project contract.
  • Conduct regular inspections to guarantee work is completed to a high standard and that all installations are in line with project plans.

• Client Interaction:

  • Maintain professional communication with the client and any external stakeholders regarding site progress, delays, or issues.
  • Participate in regular project meetings, and provide clear updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Language Skills:

  • Fluent in German (mandatory) and English (mandatory) - both written and spoken.

• Experience:

  • Proven experience in Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) installation on onshore wind projects.
  • Previous experience as a Site Manager or in a similar leadership role within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations in the wind energy industry.
  • Experience with managing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

• Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with wind turbine installation procedures, including erection, electrical work, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of project management software, scheduling, and reporting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in construction site management, safety, or project management are a plus.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected challenges on-site.
