Civil Construction Manager - Onshore Wind

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civils Construction Site Manager with fluency in English and Latvian to oversee the civil construction works for a major Onshore Wind Project in Latvia. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all site-based activities, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Lead, plan, and coordinate all civil construction activities on-site, including foundations, roads, crane pads, and other associated infrastructure.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders. Ensure effective communication in both Latvian and English.
• Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with local regulations, permits, and industry standards.
• Safety Oversight: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor construction progress and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Resource Management: Manage site resources effectively, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports, risk assessments, and project updates to the project management team.
• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
• Environmental Management: Ensure that all activities align with environmental protection standards and sustainable practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Languages: Fluency in Latvian and English (both written and spoken) is essential.
• Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction management, ideally within renewable energy projects (wind energy experience preferred).
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Latvian construction laws, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel within Latvia and work extended hours as necessary.
