Location: Italy
Working days: The 3 shifts are from Monday to Friday - there is also the possibility to work on Saturday on 1 o 2 shifts (it depends on workload). In any case, the inspector who had cover the night shift during the week will not be able to cover the Saturday.
Shift Patterns: What are the working hours for each shift pattern? 3 shifts per day - 6/14 - 14/22 - 22/6
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Lead Welding Inspector to oversee welding and quality inspection activities for offshore pipeline fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in welding inspection, NDT methods, and specialized knowledge of AUT and field joint coating processes.
Key Responsibilities:
*Serve as the lead authority for welding inspection, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
*Supervise and coordinate inspection activities during offshore pipeline fabrication and coating operations.
*Conduct and oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes and ensure accurate evaluations.
*Perform AUT (Automated Ultrasonic Testing) application and data analysis, ensuring integrity and reliability.
*Inspect coating and field joint coating processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
*Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
*Maintain detailed inspection reports and ensure proper documentation of all inspection activities.
*Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and support staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
*Minimum of 10 years' experience in welding inspection, with proven expertise in offshore pipeline projects.
*Certification as a Welding Inspector in accordance with CSWIP or equivalent internationally recognized standards.
*Strong and documented experience in applicable Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.
*At least 5 years of experience in offshore pipeline fabrication.
*Minimum 3 years of experience in AUT application and evaluation.
*At least 3 years of experience in coating and field joint coating within offshore pipeline fabrication projects.
*Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
*Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, API, and ISO relevant to welding and pipeline fabrication.
*Strong communication and leadership abilities.
*Familiarity with digital inspection tools and reporting software.
