About the Role

We are working with an international Renewables Energy developer to hire Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) in Renewables. This individual will lead a specialized team of professionals and play a pivotal role in driving growth through strategic acquisitions and partnerships in the renewable energy sector. The role involves overseeing the entire M&A process, from identifying opportunities to closing deals, while ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the M&A team to identify, evaluate, and execute acquisitions of solar, wind, and battery projects aligned with the company's growth strategy.
• Develop and implement an M&A strategy to identify acquisition targets and pursue them.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including local developers, potential targets, investment banks, and advisors.
• Manage all stages of M&A, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and closing.
• Review financial models for project valuation to support investment decisions and deal structuring.
• Lead deal structuring, negotiation, and closing for M&A transactions.
• Ensure successful integration of acquired companies/projects to maximize synergies and value creation.
• Mentor and develop a team of M&A professionals, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with company objectives.
• Coordinate with internal teams including finance, legal, and operations to ensure seamless execution of M&A activities.
• Monitor market trends in the renewable energy sector in the Philippines and the broader Asia region, conducting market analysis to identify growth opportunities or partnerships.
• Support project finance management, including negotiations and achieving financial close for renewable energy projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate development, or investment banking, with at least 3 years in power, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven track record of leading M&A transactions from origination to closing and integration.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing small teams.
• Excellent analytical skills, including experience in developing and analyzing financial models.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
