QHSE Engineer

Earthstream are currently looking for a QHSE Engineer to assist a project in Belgium. This is for an immediate start so an EU passport/Work permit is pre required for this position.

As a project QHSE engineer you will be part of the team that is on site responsible for the maintenance and control of QHSE-S practices on site, as well as inspecting all activities and equipment to reassure proper operation and implementation of procedures.

Primary Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Advise the workforce regarding QHSE matters and organize and give trainings, inductions, and toolbox meetings.
  • Give recommendations for improvement and reassure follow-up of their implementation.
  • Support, maintain and improve our QHSE system.
  • Escalate and communicate important QHSE issues and improvement initiatives to the QHSE department.
  • Execute audits and inspections to ensure the effectiveness of QHSE programs
  • Assist in the review and follow up on investigation of incidents by gathering relevant documentation and by following up on the implementation of corrective actions. You will also follow up on the effectiveness of solutions taken.
  • Complete internal risk assessment and help to implement the measures.

Requirements:

  • Local consultant who works onsite in Liège min. 2 days a week
  • Experience in the field of health, safety and environment, preferably in the offshore/marine industry
  • Experience and knowledge of maintaining and operation management systems to the guiding standards, with priority on ISM and ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
  • Familiarity with HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA (Lean Six Sigma) and other risk assessment techniques
  • Understanding of international HSE regulations applicable in the offshore/marine industry
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Methodology/Certification requirements
