Job Title: Civil Supervisor - Industrial Construction

Location: Sweden

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor with a robust background in supervising large-scale industrial construction projects, such as paper mills, power plants, refineries, and semiconductor facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing civil engineering tasks, overseeing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and maintaining safety and quality standards in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. This role requires a strategic leader who can effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day civil construction activities on site, ensuring all operations align with project requirements and timelines.
• Manage and supervise on-site teams, including subcontractors and junior civil engineers, to drive productivity, safety, and quality across all phases of construction.
• Inspect and assess the quality of work, materials, and finished structures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Enforce safety regulations and protocols to create a zero-incident environment, conducting regular inspections and proactively addressing potential hazards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other supervisors to align construction activities with project timelines, coordinating with other trades and departments.
• Maintain accurate records of daily progress, workforce deployment, equipment usage, and incident reports. Prepare and submit periodic status updates to project leadership.
• Identify, analyse, and resolve on-site issues, from technical challenges to logistical constraints, to keep the project moving forward efficiently.
• Serve as a point of contact for client representatives on site, communicating project updates, addressing concerns, and facilitating inspections.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory based on experience).
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience supervising civil construction activities on mega industrial projects (e.g., paper mills, power plants, refineries, semiconductor plants).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations within industrial environments.
• Familiarity with scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and reporting tools.
• OSHA Certification, PMP, or similar construction safety and project management credentials are highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
