Amidst fierce competition in the local Japanese solar market, due to generous feed-in-tariffs by the national government, our client was working to secure in excess of 500 MW of projects within a tight timeline.
Our client needed to rapidly build out their Japan organization as they accelerated their project development activities leading up to the start of construction of multiple projects under a tight deadline, with expiring feed-in-tariff rates and an uncertain regulatory environment. There was an acute business need for our client to rapidly source new projects as well as local project financing in Japan in order to build the necessary pipeline of projects to sustain the local operations.
Through deep engagement with several members of the regional leadership team, we were able to effectively provide our client with the necessary insights and advisory on how to effectively build their local organization in a very short period of time. Due to our deep engagement with members across the organization, we were able to effectively manage candidate expectations and develop a pipeline of talents that matched our client’s needs. Throughout the process we provided hands-on market mapping of our client’s direct competitors, conducted salary benchmarking, and provided them with competitor analysis in order to drive the recruitment process for multiple ongoing projects at a time.
What We Achieved
- Successfully closed 10 positions within 9 months
- Essentially built the entire second level of our client’s organization as well as filled several mid level roles
- Provided our client with critical market insights to effectively develop a hiring strategy tailored to the local market
