EarthStream’s defence and cyber security team recently attended the worlds largest land, sea and air defence and security exhibition at the ExCeL in London. The Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEI) conference attracts large corporations and SME’s to showcase the latest in cutting edge technology that is assisting the war against terrorism and the online fight against hackers in the world of Cyber Security. There were more than 1,500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries!
It was truly a fascinating week to engage with our clients and have the opportunity to see how new advances in technology keep us safe. I was speaking to the Managing Director of a NATO project and we discussed the importance of finding the right talent for his cyber security projects but with the shortage of skills in this area right now the challenges begins. It’s not just the UK & Europe with the high demand for cyber security professionals as this particular client is looking to build teams across Asia and the Middle East in 2016 with both nationals and expats. SC and DV cleared candidates are in more demand then ever right now due to new government regulated projects and initiatives being signed off. So if you are security cleared please get in touch as would welcome the chance to speak with you.
Walking around the conference and having time to discuss with senior members of the defence and security community was time well spent, and more importantly understanding how and why technology in these sectors are key. To give you a better picture of what the conference was like imagine this, one minute I was looking at a grenade launcher, then a brand new drone and lastly what I can only describe as something from a James Bond film, of which I wouldn’t want to be stood in front of when the engine was on.
In all, the conference was very informative and offers a great insight on how countries from all around the world are coming together to keep us safe with the latest in technology.
